A colorful bird’s fate
The first meeting with the colorful bird was on a Monday morning. I hate Monday morning. Crowds are everywhere. Buses are stuffed, streets are crowded and I could help asking for a leave to keep myself in my empty room. When everyone is going out for a busy Monday, peace comes to houses, what were created to hold people and protect us from the dangerous outside world. But still we are not satisfied and try hard to build bigger and bigger house. Perhaps, one day we will have only one house that is big enough to hold the whole world of people. Sound great eh? But a house breaks the world into two parts, and we can still enjoy something fresh outside the house. A giant house holding the whole world will leave us no new places to have a change, of mood, environment or something like that.
Where I met the colorful bird was the wood behind my room. I saw something shining from my window and it’s jumping nearer and nearer to my direction. I watched, threw beans there to see it would be frightened away or come out to eat the beans. It jumped nearer and I saw clearer. A colorful bird, beautifully colorful and its eyes were stuck to the beans. Like it eh? I threw more to it, and it seemed to be surprised and looked back at me. I smiled and it twittered. Clever creature, it knew. It continued eating those beans and I continued watching. Just enjoy the temporary peace of nature, I said to the colorful bird. A little boy wearing brightly colored sidney rice jersey came around and curiously looked at the colorful bird for a while. He ran away soon to play with other kids. You were lucky, bird. I whispered. It was concentrative on the food, and I was concentrative on it. I did not mind doing nothing on a Monday morning, just like the colorful bird did not mind eating food given by a human being. What a rare scene!
I thought so. When the colorful bird jumped back into the wood, I even waved my hand and said goodbye to it. Goodbye and never see you again, I said to the wood. How many birds get killed every day? I don’t know. I never actually care how many things die away every day, as I just get sick of the fact that so many people are living, in cruel, depredating, expanding ways. They want more than they have but never know how much more they can have, and how much less they leave to others. They believe there are unlimited numbers of chances, benefits and powers to support their ambitions. I am strange sometimes. I need exactly the same things as they do, but I just can’t persuade myself to do what they enjoy doing every day. I sometimes feel scared of the world, which is too crazy and too abnormal to any kind of really civilized creatures. I don’t mean I am more civilized than others. I’m not, and even less than many others. I’m just sometimes like the colorful bird, going naïve and hoping for peace. The colorful bird might be killed someday when it meets an unfriendly human being, but my situation would be much worse. I might kill my own hopes for peace someday as such hopes are not tolerated by the world.
I dreamed of the colorful bird’s dead body that night and I was holding a bleeding knife in the dream. The next day I closed the window and never opened it again. I meant it when I said goodbye.

Ravens rookie LB Kindle is not expected to appear for training camp
The Baltimore Ravens rookie linebacker Sergio Kindle unfortunately injured his head after falling down two flights of stairs last week, and because of the injuries he may also lose his job, or at least, lose his chance to compete for an important role in the training camp. Remaining hospitalized in Austin, Texas at University Medical Center Breckenridge while other rookies reported for the training camp, Kindle is not expected by the Ravens to return before the training camp ends.
“We’re really disappointed about that,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh told a reporter in Brett Favre jersey. “That was tough for him. It didn’t sound like it was too serious, and then it sounded like it was serious and they held him back because he was showing some signs of concussion and things like that. He’s not in any trouble, but he’s in the hospital for a reason. I think he has a fractured skull and a little bit of swelling.”

Miles Austin is going to receive contract extension from Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have just signed all the rookies to make sure the training camp will begin with no one being missed. The next thing they are going to do is to solve contract disputes with the veterans. And the first thing is to work out a long-term contract extension with Pro Bowl wide receiver Miles Austin.
Entering his fourth season with the Cowboys, Austin is also entering the last year on his current contract. In order to get a contract extension, he held out some of the offseason workouts to show his disappointment. However, when he was hanging out with friends wearing Favre jerseys, the Cowboys drafted former college star receiver Dez Bryant and gave the rookie the number 88 that was worn on legendary Michael Irvin jersey to show their emphasis on younger receivers. As a result Austin returned to retain his position in the team and waited for proper chance to restart the contract talks.
Now the chance comes and the Cowboys officials proved that they never forgot about Austin’s contract issue. They were just too busy at signing rookies to talk with Austin. Now that the rookies were all signed, the Cowboys will take time to negotiate with Austin about the new contract. Considering his standout performance in last season, the Cowboys will possibly give Austin a significant salary raise.

Jets NT Jenkins will return for training camp
The New York Jets nose tackle Kris Jenkins recently ruled out both possibilities of putting on Minnesota Vikings jersey or quitting football. The 31-year-old veteran is still rehabbing from a surgery on his torn ACL and has been invited by the Jets head coach Rex Ryan to participate in the team’s training camp.
"This is the first year that retirement really crossed my mind," Jenkins told The New York Times. "You hear people talk about the end, but you start feeling those emotions, and it’s a trip, honestly. You have anxiety issues sometimes. Look, I’ve been playing football since I was 8. I’m getting tired. Like, I’m not tired of it yet but I’m starting to get tired. The biggest thing was Rex. If it had been any other coach, (2009) probably would have been my last year."
Jenkins also said that he was feeling pretty well and was confident that he would be able to endure the hard work in training camp by Aug. 1. Having been wearing Brett Favre jersey in most of the offseason, Jenkins said he was glad that he could finally wear back his own team uniform to play with his teammates again.

Terrell Owens lost his chance to join Chargers
The San Diego Chargers recently made it clear that the team would definitely not sign jobless unrestricted free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens. The information was confirmed by Chargers general manager A.J. Smith, who was asked about the possibility of Owns joining the team during an interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune.
“We’re all set right now with our receivers,” Smith told the San Diego Union-Tribune. “I don’t want to be involved. A lot of people have us targeted, but they know I wouldn’t do it. You know me. It’s up to you to speculate on how I feel. You’d be a smart man if you did.”
By so far, it has been confirmed that Owens would not play for the Kansas City Chiefs as he has already said he does not want to play for the Chiefs. Owens is aiming at elite teams and putting on the New Orleans Saints jersey was listed as the top choice. The second is Minnesota Vikings and the third is the New England Patriots.
Being represented by Drew Rosenhaus, who also represents the star quarterback in No.4 Brett Favre jersey, Owens is unlikely to remain jobless for the 2010 season. Actually, Rosenhaus said that at least five teams were interested in Owens, and a contract could be done by the end of preseason.

Redskins coach Shanahan expects Haynesworth to attend training camp
The Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan recently told reporters that he expected defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to take part in the team’s training camp on July 29. The head coach also said that he wanted Haynesworth to appear in great shape and not in an Archie Manning jersey again.
"I talked to Albert about a month after I got the job and sat down with him and I said if he did not want to be part of the Washington Redskins, that I’d let him go," Shanahan in a Brett Favre jersey told WFAN-AM. "I wouldn’t trade him-I’d let him go to another football team. But if he did take the (bonus) check for $21 million, I expected him to play any position that we thought would be in the best interest of the Washington Redskins."

Vikings RB Peterson could go on well with the team
The Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been reported to be unhappy with the team because they emphasized too much on quarterback Brett Favre. However, some analysts pointed out that the two sides could not be at odds and Peterson will just report for the training camp and play his best in the upcoming season.
With Favre’s arrival last offseason, Peterson got much less playing time because Favre’s favorite target was wide receiver Sidney Rice. The speculation was that Peterson may hold out if the team was to still have the quarterback in No.4 Brett Favre jersey. However, with Favre’s existence, Peterson’s production increased a lot last season despite several unforgivable fumbles. The running back must be able to recognize that and could not have complaints about Favre’s passing way.

Cowboys RB Felix Jones was borrowed for commercial ads
The Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones recently received several Emails from his fans blaming him for cheating them on some sports events. Being shocked, Jones asked his lawyer to investigate and found that someone from Arkansas had been borrowing the star running back to attract customers.
The man from Arkansas was Brian Davis, who was advertising an appearance by Jones in Favre jersey at a two-day youth football camp beginning Friday. But Jones never got invitation to attend the camp. What more to Jones’ anger, Davis also organized an autograph signing event at a minor league baseball game in Arkansas last month for Jones, but Jones did not appear because he knew nothing about the signing event at all.
“Mr. Davis does not represent me in any formal capacity,” Jones said in the report. “His statements of my participation in these events were made without permission from my management or me.”
In order to comfort his fans, Jones promised that he would be present at an Arkansas Travelers’ game next Wednesday and would sign free autographs for an hour to make those deceived fans fell better. Dolphins RB Cobbs wants to return in time for preseason
The Miami Dolphins running back Patrick Cobbs was finally removed from injured reserve months after he had a surgery to repair his injured knee. Seeming satisfied with the progress of recovery, Cobbs is now confident that he will be physically healthy enough to play the first preseason game but he may need some more time to get mentally fully recovered for performing as expected in regular season.
"I knew right when it happened that something wasn't right," Cobbs told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "It kind of crushed me. I was hurt more emotionally than I was with my knee right at the time. I got a lot of my confidence back in the weight room, putting pressure on it. It's kind of slow to build. I haven't got it all back but I'm making it."
Describing Cobbs as a versatile third-down threat and Wildcat option, Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano also expressed his high expectation on Cobbs, because Cobbs is one of the few players who can do a lot of jobs that other people are unwilling to do. Seahawks new senior football executive McCloughan puts family beyond work
After his wife filed a second divorce lawsuit this February, former San Francisco 49ers general manager Scot McCloughan realized how much he sacrificed to his job. Thus he made a decision that may affect his career but improve his relationship with family: leaving the 49ers and joining the Seattle Seahawks to work as a senior football executive.
“I understand now that the job can’t consume your life,’’ McCloughan told the Boston Globe. “I’m still young, and I still love football. But it was consuming my life, and it’s just not as important as your health or taking care of your family.’’
McCloughan also said that he was frustrated when received the summons from court. Thinking that he might lose his family, his three kids, he had to reevaluate job and family. He wanted to be a good father and husband before it’s too late so he chose to apply for job that would give him some leeway. He got it from the Seahawks, who hired him as a senior football executive, who can stay based out of Northern California and will operate as a national scout. Falcons CB Robinson is confident in team’s success
The Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson recently made his own prediction on his team’s future in 2010 season, and he sound very confident with the improvements already made by the team. As a six year veteran who used to play with the Houston Texans, Robinson thought that his new team is just a much better one than it was before and confidence is important in its success.
"It's all about confidence," he told PFW earlier this offseason. "When you step out on the field, you have to think that no one on the other side of the ball can beat you. You have to feel like you're the best player on the field. That's the kind of confidence you have to play with. That's what I come to practice with, and that's what I line up on Sundays with. It's not something that I'm trying to bring (to the Falcons). I think it's just in me. (And) I think the players are buying into it."
The Falcons ranked 28th following the 2009 season in term of pass defense and they have a high expectation on Robinson after signing him to a six-year contract that is worth $57 million. These net-surfing habits make you annoying
If you want to know many people online and make friends with most of them, there are quite a few things you should know not to do. If you are already doing them, stop; and if you are not, are you sure you are not? Have a check with this list.
First of all, do not use DIY acronyms. Veteran net-surfers may like to use abbreviations to save time for typing. WTF refers to What The Fuck, IMHO means In My Humble Opinion, Thx means Thanks and RTFM stands for Read The Fucking Manual. However, the acronyms were created long ago and have been familiar to most net users. It’s not good to create your own acronyms and refuse to explain them. BFJ may refers clearly Brett Favre jersey to you and it’s nothing to anyone else as they have no clue to guess what the three letters stand for.
Then, do not write in caps and they look like you are shouting at the readers. Getting used to read in low-case letters, all caps will make people upset while reading your message and they would consider you totally impolite and impatient, so they will all leave your page at once.

Steelers OT Colon is likely to miss season
The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Willie Colon suffered a foot injury during Monday work outs, and many people’s guess was right, the injury was diagnosed to be a torn Achilles tendon and requires a surgery, which is scheduled to be had on Wednesday.
On the same day of Colon having the surgery, another Steelers offensive tackle, rookie Chris Scott is also going to undergo a surgery on his foot. By so far it still remains unsure what Scott’s playing status is going to be in his rookie season, but it’s almost sure that Colon will not be able to play on field with his teammates. The Steelers’ recent announcement only claimed what happened to the two players and did not tell what they are going to two with the two injuries.
Scott got injured almost shortly after he signed a brand new three-year contract that paid him $140,000 as signing bonus. Rams gave rookie WR Gilyard contract instead of Bradford

Not-to-wears in office even in hottest summer
Nowadays many companies do not require employees to wear formal dress in office. Casual dresses are widely allowed, but you still have to be careful with you casual dresses- You should not look too casual to really mean to have a hard-working day. Several dressing ideas should be shot down before you walk out of door.
It’s good to protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses when staying outdoors, but remember to take them off when you are indoors. Others would be uncomfortable when talking with you if you are wearing sunglasses during the conversation. The dark lenses hide your eyes and a great part of your expressions, and the hiding would make people feel that you are dishonest.
Never pick shorts to wear in office. You may feel comfortable wearing shorts and argue that it’s too hot to wrap your legs in long trousers, but wearing shorts in office will make you look weird in office, which should be in atmosphere of formal occasions.
Even it’s time for the 2010 NFL season opener between the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings, wearing Vikings jersey in office is still no good idea at all as you are turning others’ attention away from their work. You should also avoid tank tops and shirts with funny sayings for similar reasons.

A green pizza helps lose weight
A tragedy to me was that I found myself hardly fit in my newly bought Minnesota Vikings jersey last September when I was excitedly preparing for the new season. I had to change my diet habits so I turned to my friends for suggestions. One of them offered me a recipe for green pizza, which was one of the tastiest low-calories foods I tried during the time.
The green pizza is majorly made of pizza and broccoli florets and I chose arugula, pepper, pesto and part-skim mozzarella cheese as accessories. We also need some water and salt. The tools we need are oven, baking sheet, cooking spray and a large skillet. First of all, preheat the oven to 450°F while coating a large baking sheet with cooking spray. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to fit the size of the baking sheet and place it on the sheet before sending them into the oven. We need 8 to 10 minutes before taking the sheet out. While waiting we can cook broccoli and water in the large skillet with over-medium heat.
When the broccoli is crisp-tender about three minutes later, it’s time to stir it with arugula and cook the mixture until they get wilted. Then flavor the mixture with salt and pepper, and it’s almost time to take the curst out. Now spread pesto evenly over the crust, top it with the broccoli mixture and sprinkle with cheese before sending it back into the oven to bake again. It may take another 8 to 10 minutes for the pizza to become crispy and golden and the cheese melts, and the delicious pizza is ready for eating.
